This tutorial will show
you how to create a bootable Linux Mint 13 MATE USB flash disk or
often called with Linux Mint 13 Live USB. Its pretty easy to create a
Linux Mint 13 MATE Live USB. All we need is Unetbootin application
and Linux Mint 13 ISO file. We can also create persistent mode as
well.
Objectives:
- Download and Install Unetbootin
- Create Linux Mint 13 MATE Live USB
First, Install
Unetbootin. If you are running Windows, you can download the latest
Windows binary file of Unetbootin from here.If you are running other Linux, you can download the binary from here.
And if you are running Ubuntu or Linux Mint 13, you can install Unetbootin via Software Center. Type "unetbootin" on the search box and select Unetbootin from the search result.
How to create Linux Mint 13 Mate Live USB using Unetbootin:
1. Open Unetbootin2. Select DiskImage and browse the ISO file of Linux Mint 13
3. Select USB drive on the Type and select the drive of the USB flash disk.
4. To create persistent mode, enter the number in megabyte for the space to preserve files accross reboots. For example type: 1000 MB (1 GB)
Now boot your computer using that USB flash disk. Select USB disk as the first boot option. Now enjoy and run Linux Mint 13 from Live USB
