Fedora tutorial - How to add rpmfusion repository to Fedora 17
rpmfusion repository provides many applications and packages for Fedora based Linux. If you are running Fedora 17, it is highly recommended to install or add rpmfusion repo to your system to get better software and packages supports. This tutorial will show you how to add rpmfusion repo to Fedora 17. We are using Fedora 17 x86_64 KDE edition on this tutorial. There are two ways to install rpmfusion on Fedora 17. Please note that this tutorial is for Fedora 15, 16 and 17 only.
1. Via Firefox web browser (GUI)
To install, simply download this file rpmfusion-free-release-stable.noarch.rpm. And also this file rpmfusion-nonfree-release-stable.noarch.rpm. Select Open with Apper Installer and press OK.
Then follow and confirm the installation wizard shown on your Fedora 17 screen.
2. Using command line
To install rpmfusion on Fedora 17 via command line, simply execute this command instead.
su -c 'yum localinstall --nogpgcheck http://download1.rpmfusion.org/free/fedora/rpmfusion-free-release-stable.noarch.rpm http://download1.rpmfusion.org/nonfree/fedora/rpmfusion-nonfree-release-stable.noarch.rpm'
