Since Google Chrome 23.0 is still in development version and still in unstable state, we highly recommend not to install this version of Google Chrome on a production machine. Use it for testing purposes only. This tutorial will show you how to install Google Chrome 23.0 unstable on Fedora 17 x86_64 (64bit edition). Google Chrome 23.0 has a better user interface compared to the previous version beside many improvements inside it.

We have been tested this tutorial on our platform but we do not guarantee that this method will work for you as well us. Google Chrome is way better than the default web browser on Fedora 17 KDE, Konqueror. Sorry to say that but its true. Google Chrome is simpler and more functionality and faster as well.

1. Download Google Chrome 23.0 RPM for Fedora 17 x86_64

2. Save the file google-chrome-unstable-23.0.1262.0-155673.x86_64.rpm to your temporary folder for example /home/dhani/downloads. Where “dhani” is my username.

3. Open Terminal and cd to the download directory

cd /home/dhani/Downloads

4. We need to install some dependency files. Execute this command to install as root.

yum install lsb wget

Then this command to install Google Chrome 23.

rpm –Uvh google-chrome-unstable-23.0.1262.0-155673.x86_64.rpm

When finished, you can run Google Chrome 23.0 on your Fedora 17 x86_64.
