How to install Install NX Nomachine 4 on Linux Mint 13
This Linux Mint 13 tutorial will show you how to install NX NoMachine 4 on Linux Mint 13. We are running Linux Mint 13 Cinnamon. What is NX NoMachine and why I install it on my Mint? NX Nomachine is a powerful remote desktop application that lets us to connect to remote computer running various OS (Windows, Linux and Mac). The new version of NX NoMachine 4 for Linux is now available for download. NX NoMachine 4 brings a totally new interface and now add NX web player.
Tutorial Objectives
This tutorial objectives are to install and run the NX NoMachine Server on Linux Mint 13 so we can access and gain control to the workstation from other computers.
How to install NX NoMachine 4 on Linux Mint 13
First, download NX Nomachine server edition version 4 from this link. Select DEB package and make sure you select correct arch for your computer (32 or 64 bit).
You will have a file like nxserver_4.0.181-4_i386.deb (32bit). Now we can start install it using the following method
A. Using Package Manager (GUI)
Right click the file nxserver_4.0.181-4_i386.deb and select open with GDebi Package Installer. Then, select install.
B. Using Command Line (Terminal)
Open Terminal, cd to your download directory and type the following command
sudo dpkg -i nxserver_4.0.181-4_i386.deb
Don't forget to change the package name with yours.
