This tutorial is going to show you how to add new disk and create new filesystem on OpenMediaVault (OVM) server. OVM is a powerful Network Attached Storage (NAS) which can be installed on a flash disk. The user’s data should be placed on different disk for security reason.
To create filesystem on OVM, make sure the new disk is recognize by the server. You can check the new disk from the physical disk menu on the storage section. See the image below for illustration.
Next, go to Filesystems and press Create button. On the Create Filesystems menu, select the new disk we want to format. Give a label and select the Filesystem from the list.
Press Save to format the disk. Now the system will format the new disk and after that we can start using the new disk.
